DIRECTOR BIO

Sorrel Brae is a storytelling director sought out for his beautiful visuals, heartfelt performances, and sharp observational comedy.

He transitioned from editing to directing a decade ago after winning the Young Director Award in Cannes. Collaborating with Anonymous Content, Humble, and Backyard, he has worked with a wide range of clients including Procter & Gamble, Firefox, Don Julio, Pacific Life, Mizuno, Bank of America, NFL, Motorola, PNC Bank, and American Express. Along the way, he has picked up numerous honors, including a Telly, Hatch, ADDY, Creative Media, MIXX, Webby, and One Show Award.

As an independent writer and director, Sorrel’s short films have played on the Sundance Channel, been selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick and Short of the Week, and screened at Austin, Brooklyn, Nashville, Los Angeles, New York, Portland and Paris film festivals, among many others.

Born on a commune in Maine, he spent time in Nepal, Australia, Guatemala, New Zealand, California, and Colorado before moving to New York where he now lives with his partner and young son. 

He can also make a fire with sticks.
